The Civics Literacy Initiative is a multi-faceted project created to infuse and enhance civic learning and democratic engagement for students in the 28 institutions of the Florida College System (FCS). The ultimate goal of the project is to teach the basics of democracy to this and succeeding generations in the FCS and to provide tools and resources for the K-12 public schools.
This initiative is inspired and supported by former Florida Governor and former United States Senator Bob Graham, and is implemented in partnership with the Bob Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida, the Lou Frey Institute of Politics & Government at the University of Central Florida, the Education Commission of the States, the Office of the Chancellor of the Florida College System, and the FCS Council of Presidents.
